Search ignores 1 space inside search string

Hello.

It seems that there is a search issue when using spaces inside string. Consider the following situation.

1. Launch PDF Viewer;
2. Select and open a PDF file containing text;
3. Type in a string containing 1 space inside into the search field, e.g. "pro gram";
4. Press [Find next].

Actual result:
The application returns "program" as a search result, i.e. internal space is ignored

Expected results:
Internal space(s) are not ignored, i.e. basing on the scenario - "program" is invalid search result.

Note:
The same result is produced by DynamicPdfViewer.FindFirst(...) and DynamicPdfViewer.FindNext() methods (version 2.0).


Any workaround or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

We are able to see this behavior when using a space in the search string. We will forward this information over to the developers to look into it further and we will post a message in this forum as soon as we hear something from them.

You can use the Boolean parameter "match whole word" of the FindFirst method which will search and highlight if the whole word is present including the space. You can select this option while searching using the control's Find window also. You can select this by clicking on the down arrow next to the "Find" word in the Find window.

Thank you for suggesting the workaround but it is not really the desired behavior.

So do you consider it as a defect or as desired behavior? Are you going to fix it?

And let me clarify situation a bit. What we are trying to do is creating our custom PDF Viewer based on DynamicPDFViewer.ocx component. The defect in DynamicPDFViewer.FindFirst(...) function described above is blocking us from creating the desired user experience. Please help.
