DynamicPDF Converter for .NET (v1) Forum

I am getting this error when trying to convert an aspx file off of my localhost.  Any ideas?

Hello,

The error you are getting is because the Converter service is not running in the system where you are trying to convert the file. Please make sure that you have the Converter service installed and running. Also please check for the Converter printer in the printers and faxes folder. In order to convert a file you will need the Service and Printer installed in the system.

Thanks,
ceTe Software Support Team.
I do have it installed.
I have it running fine in one of my aspx files. So now I am trying to run it in page load event of another aspx file and it gives me the error.

Any ideas?  Is it because the page hasn't loaded yet, therefore the imports isn't functioning until the page loads?  Not sure...

Hello,

This error is a known error and it comes because the service is not running. You can refer to the Error Guide on our help documentation which shows this error and solution for this.

For some reason the service might got stopped. Please start the service and try running the application and it should work fine.

Thanks,

I don't have the service intalled.  I ran itusing net start and it seemed to do something but when i go to  my local services in administrative tools, it isn't showing up.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello Mary Ann,

You will  have to install and start the service in the system where the conversion process is running. If you are viewing the aspx page from a client machine then it is not required to have to service in client's machine. You will need to have it in server where the application is running.

Please make sure that you have the service installed and running in the system where the application is running. If you do not have the service then please uninstall the product and then install it again downloading from our CusotmerArea by using your product serial number. If you are evaluating the product then you can get it from our website.

Installing our product will register the service and printer in the system. Start the service if it is not started.

Thanks,
ceTe Software Support Team.
I am running this on my client machine..local host.

Any ideas?

Hello,

When you are viewing the aspx page from a client machine in localhost, you will need the converter service and printer installed in the server machine in which the application is running. So you will have to check the service in the server.

It is not required to install our product in the client machine.

Hello Mayolo,

If you are required to use your application with administrator permissions then you might want to check with your system administrator. Our Converter product does not require that you have admin permissions on your application.

If you are trying to install Converter on a computer, you may need to run the installer with admin permissions. This depend on if your account has permissions to install software on the computer.

Thanks,
ceTe Software Support Team.

Hello Mayolo,

In a desktop environment, the Converter does not require that you run your desktop application with admin privileges. It is possible that the account using which you have logged in does not have permissions to run the desktop application. What is the error message that you get when you run your desktop application without admin privileges?

Thanks,
ceTe Software Support Team.
the error is the same as the thread:
Client Communication Error :2:The system cannot find the file specified

but i don't now why it's happen my clients are over a domain server, an the privileges are common users, but my software needs, extra privilege like admin users to execute the library.

Mayolo

Hello Mayolo,

The Converter does not need any extra privileges in a normal desktop environment. Typically you would not need to give any extra permission to the user in order to run the desktop application that uses Converter. It is possible that the common users might have restricted access to the computers resources in your client's environment. We have emailed you a test application with instructions to troubleshoot this issue, please email support@cete.com us back with the results of the test application so we can look into this further.

HtmlLayout is not present under ceTe.DynamicPDF namespace.

Hello,

The HtmlLayout class is included in the DynamicPDF Generator for .NET API. It looks like you are referencing the DynamicPDF Converter DLL and trying to access this class. DynamicPDF Generator is a separate product.

If you would like to explore the HtmlArea and HtmlLayout features then you can download the fully functional evaluation edition of DynamicPDF for .NET product here.
